Qatar's senior men's national team claimed the silver medal at the 2nd West Asian Volleyball Championship, hosted by the Omani capital Muscat, after losing the final to Oman in straight sets (19–25, 15–25, 23–25).
The holders of the inaugural title — won last year in Bahrain — opened their campaign with a deserved 3–1 win over Syria, followed by a 3–0 victory over Kuwait to top their pool and reach the knockout rounds on merit.
In the semi-final, Al-Adaam swept past Iraq 3–0 to book a place in the final for the second edition running, confirming their standing as title contenders to the very last match.
The team produced distinguished performances throughout the tournament, reflecting the progress of Qatari volleyball and its ability to compete strongly on the regional stage, closing the campaign with silver after the first edition's gold.
Among the individual awards, Mohammed Al-Waleed was named best outside hitter, Abdulla Naseem best middle blocker, and Mahdi Samoud the tournament's best setter.
In the final standings Qatar finished second behind champions Oman, with Iraq third, Kuwait fourth, Saudi Arabia fifth, Syria sixth and Lebanon seventh.
