Qatar's national U17 volleyball squad has departed for the Egyptian capital Cairo for a training camp running from 8 to 14 July, part of an intensive preparation programme for the FIVB U17 World Championship, which Doha hosts this August.
During the camp the team will play a series of friendlies against their Egyptian counterparts, aimed at raising technical and physical readiness and assessing the players ahead of the world event.
The preparation programme also includes a second training camp in Slovenia with further friendly matches, before returning to Cairo and then home to Doha for the final phase of preparations.
In the same context, the national teams of Egypt, Italy and Poland are scheduled to arrive in Doha on 10 August for a joint camp with friendly matches before the championship begins.
The World Championship runs from 19 to 29 August at the Al Arabi and Aspire halls, with 24 national teams taking part from around the world.
