Al Arabi to face Police in Emir Cup semis

Police and Al Arabi won their respective quarterfinal matches to qualify for the semi-finals of the Emir Cup volleyball.

Yesterday at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena, both Police and Al Arabi coasted to straight sets and will clash in the best-of-three semi-finals.

In the first match of the day, Police defeated Al Gharafa 3-0 (25/15, 25/6 and 25/20) to book a place in the last four stage of the championship.

In the second match, Al Arabi defeated Qatar SC 3-0 (25/19, 25/17 and 25/18). The other semi-final will be a repeat of the Qatar Cup final between Al Rayyan and El Jaish, which the former won in a dramatic five-set thriller.

On Tuesday, Al Rayyan trounced Al Sadd 3-0 (25/15, 25/17 and 25/18) to qualify for the last four stage. In the other quarter-final, El Jaish got the better of Al Shamal 3-0 (25/19, 25/22 and 25/21).

The best-of-three semi-finals will be played on May 7, 9, 11

The final will be played on May 13 at the Ali Bin Hamad Al Attiya Arena.
