Welcome to the Qatar Volleyball Association

The Qatar Volleyball Association participated in the 39th General Assembly of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) in Porto, Portugal, represented by Ali Ghanem Al-Kuwari, President of the Qatar Volleyball Association, and Mohammed Salem Al-Kuwari, Board Member. During the meeting, Brazil’s Fabio Azevedo was unanimously elected as FIVB President, while Ali Ghanem Al-Kuwari secured a seat on the FIVB Board of Directors.

In his speech to the assembly, Al-Kuwari emphasized Qatar’s commitment to developing the sport in coordination with the FIVB, which has led to the country hosting multiple international tournaments. He also highlighted the progress of Qatari teams, particularly in beach volleyball, which won bronze at the Tokyo Olympics and placed fourth in Paris 2024. Additionally, Qatar’s indoor volleyball team has qualified for the upcoming World Championship in the Philippines.

As President of the West Asia Volleyball Association, Al-Kuwari called on the FIVB to provide special support to the volleyball federations of Palestine and Lebanon to help develop the sport in these countries. This request aligns with his efforts to support national federations in the region and enhance their ability to keep pace with advancements in the game.
