The inaugural Aspire Beach Volleyball tournament will be played at the Aspire Zone courts on April 17 and 18.
Sixty four teams are expected to vie for honours in the men’s and women’s sections of the tournament, to be played on a league-cum-knockout basis. It will be organised under the auspices of the Qatar Volleyball Association (QVA).
The open tournament, for players aged 17 and above, is launched with an aim to promote the benefits of healthy living among the public as well as the sport itself.
Aspire Zone Events Manager Abdullah Al Khater said, “We’re delighted to host events like the beach volleyball tournament. We remain committed to organising unique events as this one and really engaging the community with fun and challenge.”
QVA General Secretary Mohammed Ali Al Mohannadi said, “We’re looking forward to building a solid relationship with the Aspire Zone. It plays a great role in the development of sports and promotes our activities.”
