The Qatari national volleyball team continue its daily training at its internal camp in the Federation Hall, as part of the final stage of preparations before participating in the World Championship, which will be hosted by the Philippines from Sep. 12 to 28.

This will be the team’s second historic appearance at the World Championship.The Qatari national team played two friendly matches against the Egyptian team on Aug. 25 and 26,which ended in a 2-2 draw without resorting to a fifth tiebreaker by mutual agreement.The two technical teams preferred to limit the match to four sets to allow the largest number of players to practice and experiment with various technical methods.

In the first match, the Egyptian team won the first and second sets, 26-24 and 25-15, before the Qatari team came back to win the third and fourth sets, 25-18. The second match saw a series of exchanges of dominance, with Egypt winning the first set (25-14), followed by Qatar in the second set (25-22). The Egyptians then took the lead again in the third set (25- 15), before Qatar leveled the score with a 25-21 victory in the fourth set.

The Qatari national team will continue training program with two matches against Iran on August 31 andSeptember 2, before concluding their training camp with three matches against Ukraine on Sep. 4, 6, and 7. This will be the final stop before heading to the Philippine capital, Manila, where the tournament will be held. The World Cup draw placed the Qatari national team in Group B alongside world number one and defending champion Poland, the Netherlands, and Romania, in a group described as one of the toughestin the tournament.The Qatari will begin their campaign on Sep. 13 against the Netherlands, then face Poland on Sep. 15,and conclude the first round against Romania on Sep. 17. This is the team's second appearance in the World Cup finals, following its first participation in the 2022 edition held in Poland and Slovenia. This time, the team aims to capitalize on its accumulated experience and hone its performance against the world’s top teams, at a time when the 2025 edition will witness a historic expansion to 32 teams, instead of the 24 that had been in place since the 1998 edition.
